About the centre

The 22 July Centre is a commemoration and learning centre that disseminates knowledge about the terrorist attacks in Oslo and on the island of Utøya on 22 July 2011. Here you will find an overview of the Centre's mandate, history and what we do.

Witness testimony

By documenting and collecting personal accounts, texts, photos, videos, and other material that highlight individual and collective experiences from 22 July, the 22 July Centre aims to contribute to the unfolding of the stories from and about 22 July 2011, and their preservation for posterity.

Stories of those we lost

Who were they, what did they dream of, and how are they remembered by those who knew them the best?

Conservation of objects

Since 2015 the 22 July Centre has collected and mediated historical traces and objects that in varying ways carries stories from and about the terror attack in 2011. Through these, new generations can come closer to the terror attack. This is part of the important work against the spreading of conspiracy theories.
